What I Wore — Soldier Girl

Come, they told me, pa-rum-pa-pum-pum…

Every Christmas Eve, my family gets together after the vigil mass for a little cocktail hour of sorts. It’s like a prep for Christmas Day dinner with the big extended family, and this is what I wore:

With a boucle/tweed-y coat, slim black pants and tall faux-suede black boots, I feel like a fashion-forward soldier. I love mixing textures, but when I mix very heavy textures, I try to keep the patterns of each piece to a minimum and the palette more monotone (but sometimes even I don’t always follow my own rules!) In this outfit are boucle/tweed, faux leather, faux suede, natural stones and glass pearls… so many things! I paired this outfit with a messy topknot hairdo and a darker, mauve-pink-neutral lipstick to finish the look.
